Man missing in Cijevna, search underway

Mustafa Demiri disappeared yesterday around 16 pm after swimming in Cijevna, near the bridge in Dinoša.

His family members informed "Vijesti" about the above and stated that they contacted the competent authorities immediately upon learning.

"We informed the police, and they came after two hours, they stayed there for about half an hour, after which they left, and after that no one came," claimed Adem Demiri, Mustafa Demiri's brother.

He believes that the authorities are not dealing with the disappearance of his brother sufficiently, because it is a person of Roma nationality, and he points out that the family members joined the search on their own.

The allegations of the Demiri family are denied by the Police Administration. They emphasize that the entire composition of organizational units of the police, which are normally engaged when searching for missing persons, has been engaged.

"The allegations that not enough activities were undertaken to search for this person and other allegations related to nationality are incorrect," the Police Administration pointed out.

The Administration points out that officers of the Security Center Podgorica, uniformed police officers and police officers working in civilian clothes, went to the scene and organized a search for the person, and that they also engaged SAJ divers who searched the river.

"Police officers informed the Directorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Regional Diving Center in Bijela, which will be involved in the search, about the event, due to the configuration of the terrain, i.e. the riverbed. Police officers are taking and will take all measures and actions to find the mentioned person", the Police Directorate announced, noting that the search continues.

The commander of the Protection and Rescue Service of the Capital City, Andrija Čađenović, also denied the family's allegations that the necessary activities are not being undertaken to find the person. Čađenović points out that the Rescue Service team went to the field immediately upon learning. The area, that is, the bed of the Cijevna River, was searched yesterday, and Čađenović points out that the members of the city's Rescue Service were joined by divers from Bijela.

"This morning, the team of the Protection Service and divers from Bijela are carrying out activities on the terrain search," Čađenović pointed out.
