In the "Biogradska gora" National Park, they are rapidly preparing for the start of the tourist season with all available capacities. The employees of that company have a lot of difficulties in removing the consequences of the February storm, but that, as the director Saša Jeknić claims, will not prevent them from making all the paths passable and completely safe for use, as far as possible.
"The storms in January and February brought a lot of problems, both in the functioning of the NP 'Biogradska gora' and in the repair of the damage caused by the storm. The snow cover, the height of which exceeded 2,5 meters, gave us the most problems at the large mammal farm, where the supervisors were forced to deliver baled hay by walking on snowshoes for 15 kilometers, in order to somewhat alleviate the consequences of this unprecedented storm.
There was a lot of damage to the National Park both on small furniture that was not of the assembly-dismantling type (benches, tables, canopies, signs), and on large infrastructure buildings (the terrace of the 40-square-meter restaurant, which was completely destroyed, as well as the roof covering with the construction on the observation deck). The wooden bridge in the Biogradska river delta also suffered greater damage," said Jeknić.
According to him, the new tourist season, however, will begin with the opening of a very important infrastructure facility. It is a "Mobile home" parking space, unique of its kind in the territory of Montenegro, equipped according to all ADAC standards, intended for the reception of road cruisers or yachts on four wheels.
"It is a project that was realized in cooperation with the former Ministry of Tourism, GIZ and JP NPCG. Another novelty, perhaps the most interesting for our visitors, is the introduction of an annual ticket for all our local residents, which represents just one form of continuing good cooperation and establishing partnership relations with them," said Jeknić.
