The annual exhibition of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Cetinje was opened in the Center of Contemporary Art, on the occasion of marking 30 years since the establishment of that educational institution.
The Ministry of Culture announced that the works of students of all years and study programs of the Faculty were presented at the exhibition, while the best ones were awarded prizes, as well as the purchase - Perspectives.
The Perspektive Award, sponsored by the Ministry, this year went to the fourth-year painting student, Vladan Pejanović.
The Minister of Culture, Aleksandar Bogdanović, said that the Perspektive award was established with the intention, among other things, to create a small gallery in the space of the Ministry of Culture, which will be a kind of sample of recent developments in fine art by young artists.
"It is especially important that the award is given to student works, because this gives us an insight into the poetics of those young artists who have decided to upgrade their talent in the process of academic maturation, which is very important for the art scene of Montenegro and culture in general," said Bogdanović. .
He added that, regardless of the great educational opportunities offered by modern technical achievements, the academic framework still represents the most reliable foundation for artistic talent.
"The Academy of Fine Arts is a place that has preserved good practice, not neglecting all the circumstances imposed by the modern era through dynamics, but also erasing the boundaries between scientific disciplines and between artistic expressions," said Bogdanović.
He believes that the significant pedagogical tradition is confirmed by the award-winning work, which, with its aesthetic reach, but also with the author's visible awareness of the context of current artistic research, shows that it is based not only on talent, but also on acquired knowledge.
The exhibition will be open until Friday.
