The earthquake that hit Montenegro on January 4 only "delivered the final blow" to the already dilapidated house where Dragan Jokić's family of seven lives, in the village of Velika near Plavo.
"The old, dilapidated house that was further damaged by the earthquake is barely holding up the walls. Unfortunately, the leaders of the Municipality of Plav have not yet paid compensation to this family, and in the conversation with the mayor, we were informed that they do not know when and if they will have the means to pay them that money." , announced from the NGO "Izvor života", which decided to help the Jokić family to adapt the house as soon as possible.
The damage to the house of the Jokić family was estimated at 6.100 euros, and the Municipality, when paying the money, would set aside ten percent of the estimated damage.
"Father Dragan and mother Slađana are raising five children, two of whom have developmental disabilities, and son Nikola was killed by a horse, which further shook this family," they announced from "Izvor života".
The story of the adaptation of the house of the Jokić family has already started and for now, as announced by "Izvor života", the Center for Social Work in Plav and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development have become involved in it.
"Thanks to them in the ministry, led by Milutin Simović, we secured timber. We invite all companies and people of good will to join this action and once again show that we can do a lot together," said "Izvor života".
