856 euros to the Danilovgrad Cultural Center, as requested

If all cultural activities were counted on official website of the Municipality of Danilovgrad, in the "culture" section realized, this city would be known as the cultural center of our country.

Unfortunately, the state of culture in the city is worrisome, and how much the municipal government takes care of the cultural life of its fellow citizens is best shown by the fact that only 856,58 euros were allocated from the municipal coffers for the program activities of the Cultural Center last year.

In the response signed by Jovanka Popović, Secretary of the Secretariat for Economy and Finance, the Municipal Finance Office states that the amount was paid in accordance with the requests of the Cultural Center, and that only one request was not approved.

"According to one request, funds were not approved, because it cannot be treated as a program activity, since it refers to the printing of a book by a natural person, so the request could have been sent as a request for sponsorship," the answer states.

48.024,13 euros allocated for cultural and sports content?

Along with this answer came the clarification that EUR 48.024,13 was allocated from the Municipality's budget for program activities of "cultural and sports content", in addition to the amount paid to the Cultural Center.

However, they did not specify how cultural activities are carried out without the participation of the Center for Culture, as well as why these activities were not organized by this institution.

Despite the fact that the Center did not participate in the implementation of activities for which the Municipality allocated almost 50.000 euros, the official website of the Municipality states that "the largest part of cultural activities is related to the Center for Culture".

When was the last time the "Poet's Coast" literary event was held?

According to data from the website, the most significant projects of the work unit of performance and stage activities include literary manifestations, festivals, book promotion, literary evenings, panels and lectures, documentary evenings, theater performances for children and adults, concerts and entertainment-artistic programs, and especially is a prominent literary manifestation "Poet's Coast", which was attended by "renowned writers from Montenegro and Yugoslavia", traditional cultural-entertainment and sports-recreational manifestation "Rijekom Zeta", children's poetry festival "Kraj zelena Zeta".

The site also states that the "Zeta" Cinema works within the Center for Culture, that it was founded in 1947 and shows films of various genres of the most current domestic and foreign productions.
