The management of Danilovgrad Vodovod reached an agreement on the payment of the debt for the consumed electricity, for which last week, after several months of failed calls for cooperation and warnings, Elektroprivreda (EPCG) announced periodic restrictions.
Director of Waterworks Darko Đuričković confirmed to "Vijesta" that since December 8, when the restrictions were announced, they had been in negotiations with EPCG and that an agreement was reached in principle on the settlement of the 400.000 euro debt. The most important thing, he said, was that there were no restrictions that would cause their consumers to suffer.
"Because of the debt we have towards EPCG, they started a court case, but we still agreed that there will be no restrictions and that in the next few days they will send us the Protocol on the settlement of the debt in several monthly installments", said Đuričković.
Vodovod, he explained, has been regularly paying EPCG current bills since March of this year, which on average amount to around 20.000 euros per month, but the debt that accumulated arose in the period before March 1.
"There are unpaid bills for about two years. With the contract we are signing, the debt that arose mainly as a result of our poor collection will be paid. Citizens and institutions owe us large sums of money, and households are leading in this, that's why we are informing everyone consumers, individual users and legal entities that we will apply unpopular exclusion measures," said Đuričković, adding that they were forced to take that step because of their outstanding obligations to EPCG.
At the end of last week, EPCG announced that in the last few months they have intensified the collection of arrears with the possibility of signing the Protocol on debt settlement in several monthly installments, and that the non-selective principle of exclusion will also apply to companies, households, as well as companies under the jurisdiction of local governments. .
It was then announced that after several months of warnings and calls for cooperation, the waterworks in Cetinje and Danilovgrad were forced to introduce periodic restrictions in the supply of electricity for two hours each during the day and night hours.
