Ana Vujošević is always in favor, Miloš Šćepanović believes that the system can be changed, but human nature cannot, and Knez only talks about more "normal" topics - we learned by talking to Montenegrin public figures on the topic of global anti-capitalist protests around the world.
Demonstrations inspired by the American "Occupy Wall Street" movement, which according to announcements will be held today in 82 countries of the world, will not bypass Montenegro either.
It is already known that American protestors have been supported by many celebrities such as Susan Sarandon, Michael Moore, Noam Chomsky, Yoko Ono and many others, while Rambo Amadeus is the only domestic star who has declared himself. The World Kilo Car, in fact, posted a map of the protest on its Facebook page, with the note "this concerns all of us".
Ignorant, but supportive of the idea
Other famous people from Montenegro also expressed their opinions about the protests for "Vijesti". Most of the interlocutors were ignorant of the situation, but supported the idea.
Miss Montenegro Nikolina Lončar said that she is not fully informed about this movement, but that she supports it, because she believes that power should be in the hands of the majority, not individuals. She believes that economic crises are created by rich individuals and that in this way they are working to destroy the middle class.
"I support the protests, because I think the people should also ask themselves. I have been very busy since I was in Podgorica, both because of my studies and because of work, so I am very sorry that I missed the student protests. I will try to attend this protest, but not I can say with certainty whether I will be able to," she says.
"If it's about peaceful protests, which will bring good to people, I fully support"
"I think that all this had to happen, starting with our Balkan countries, because people are simply not satisfied. When that dissatisfaction exceeds certain limits, it is expected that people will express it publicly," the rapper claims. In his opinion, the USA bears the greatest responsibility for events on the world stage.
"I don't support riots and violence. If it's peaceful protests that will bring good to people, I fully support them," he says.
To explain the modern economy to people
Nikola Radunović, singer in the group "Perper" is of the opinion that it is more important to explain to people how the modern economy works. That way the protests would be more effective, he says.
"I think that all the capital is in the hands of ten world families and that the same team is making all these fluctuations on the world stage. It is important that people become aware, that they learn how things work, because I believe that people are being massively manipulated and that we are into a situation where everything depends on those ten people who have almost all the power on a global level," says the singer.
He believes that the European Union is also part of that story.
"No matter what, they will let us in at some point, because basically they need us more than they need us," he explains.
Montenegrin water polo representative Miloš Šćepanović was more aware of the events than most of the interlocutors, but he did not know that the protest would also take place in Podgorica.
"I support it, but I don't believe that anything will change. Even if the system were to change, I think human pride would hold back these new forces. However, I think this is a good start, if nothing else - it should be known that people are dissatisfied," he said.
Ivana's fight for equality
"Radical changes through protests seem to be necessary, because it is obvious that there is no other way"
"I have always fought for equality, which is almost impossible to achieve in this world. I definitely have the opinion that money should go in all directions, not just in one direction, so I am against the concentration of wealth. But I did not think whether in practice it should be this way of acting", she said and subsequently added:
"Radical changes through protests seem to be necessary, because it is obvious that there is no other way. There may be temporary solutions, but not permanent ones".
Prince for more normal topics
Among the interlocutors of "Vijesti" there were also those who did not want to talk about today's protests. Among others, the creator Ivana Murišić had no comment, since, as she says, she was not informed, while the actress Kristina Stevović believes that it would be hypocritical on her part to talk about something she was not informed about.
"I'm in favor of some more normal topics, and for that, find someone else to talk to," answered the popular pop singer Nenad Knežević - Knez when invited by journalists to express his views on the protests.
Đuričić: Individuals get rich on other people's pain
The most dramatic, and time will tell if the most realistic, was the famous drummer Dragoljub Đuričić, who at one time actively participated in protests against the regime of Slobodan Milošević.
He believes that many countries will "burn to the nail" because of their policies, and he blames the global situation on bad politicians who mostly occupied important positions.
"I'm afraid that everything will unfold like in 68, when the hippie movement was manipulated. I am personally a supporter, because I think we all have to eat," he says.
When asked if protests are the right way for people to fight for their rights, Đuričić says that he dedicated his life to rock and roll, and rock and roll is basically a rebellion. Therefore, he says, his commitment is clear.
"I live in Serbia and here five percent of the people hold everything. Does that make sense? Are these people really that smart to deserve it? Come on... The impotence of politicians has led to this, they just shift the responsibility to each other, while individuals get rich at the expense of other people's pain", says the legendary musician.
"People are asking for their rights, that's absolutely right. You just have to keep it all under control, so that there is no war. History shows that exactly these kinds of events caused wars," Đuričić expressed his fear.
Ana always for
"I'm always in favor of protests!", actress Ana Vujošević answers as if from a cannon when asked if she supports this anti-capitalist campaign of citizens around the world.
"Our society is at an astonishingly low level of social awareness, and that is why it is significant that this is happening in our country," says Vujošević.
The actress's position is that globalization has not borne fruit and cannot be sustained due to numerous divisions among people on various grounds. The same, he says, can be applied to the European Union.
"First of all, I support young people who need to stand out in the fight for their rights. Our society is at an astonishingly low level of social awareness, and that is why it is significant that this is happening in our country," says Vujošević.
She agrees with the opinion of Nikola Radunović that the best weapon to fight against the ruling system is knowledge.
"We must be educated, be aware of what capitalism is and how it works. Only then will this fight have its full effect", she concluded and added that it is good that we all share the same pain.
