Citizens who illegally built houses in the area of Podgorica have scheduled a new protest in front of the Parliament of Montenegro building for tomorrow at noon, because they claim that even though it was announced, the production of social cards has not yet started.
On April XNUMXth, the PG Bureau announced that, on the initiative of Mayor Slavoljub Stijepović, it was decided that the Capital City and the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism would request the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare to speed up social records for the owners of illegally built buildings in Podgorica, in order to an objective picture of the material status of families was obtained.
"That was one of our demands, which we presented at the meeting with the mayor held after the April XNUMX protest. However, according to our information, and we inquired in all the settlements, the production of cardboard has not yet started", said Radovan Jeremić, a member of the Committee of Residents of Illegal Settlements in Podgorica.
He explained that the production of social cards would show the true situation, that is, confirm that the majority of citizens are unable to pay for legalization according to the tariffs adopted at the Assembly of the Capital City.
Dissatisfied with the legalization process and the offered prices, residents from the so-called formal settlements protested on April XNUMX in front of the Assembly of the Capital City.
The councilors of the ruling majority in the Assembly of the Capital adopted the decision on utilities for illegal buildings on March 16, and Stijepović announced that a citizen who has a house of 100 square meters on his land in zone five (Zagorič), if he pays in cash, utilities will pay 2.100, and 2.451 euros in installments.
The capital city claims that they took care of the social status of owners of illegal houses and that is precisely why Stijepović submitted the amendment, which made the legalization more favorable.
The deadline for applications for legalization expires on July 15, and besides Podgorica, only a few other municipalities in Montenegro have set utility prices.
