The independent daily Vijesti celebrates its fourteenth birthday in the wake of an attack, the daily's cars were set on fire, the perpetrators were not found, but this does not stop the journalists and editors who are working despite attempts to stop their work.

Mihailo Jovović, editor-in-chief of ND "Vijesti", says that the attacks on the daily are serious, but that the case is simple.
"We are doing our job, those who are burning are doing their job, or maybe it is their hobby, only the state is not doing its job. They should find those people who are trying to influence what we write or who are trying to stop what we're writing, while I'm in this place it won't happen," Jovović said.
1.700.000 visitors to the portal
Vijesti is the most read and influential daily newspaper in Montenegro, and the Vijesti portal managed to gain great popularity in a short time. In the past seven months, the portal was visited by 1.700.000 unique visitors.

On Monday, August 29, 70.000 visits were recorded on the portal.
Director of ND Vijesti Željko Ivanović said that the results are satisfactory, but that with the results "every new day is a new trial and a new chance to prove yourself".
"We think there will be some changes in society and an improvement in the atmosphere and environment in which freer media operate," Ivanovic said.

"Synergy is needed, and joint work is very important, and as you can see, we have been doing it successfully for years," said Vijesti journalist Rajko Milić.
