Citizens of Plav, Andrijevica, Pljevlja, Mojkovac, Kolašin, Plužin, Šavnik and Žabljak, municipalities in which notaries have not yet been appointed, will be able to perform numerous legal tasks in Berane, Bijelo Polje, Podgorica and Nikšić in the future.
"Citizens from Plav and Andrijevica will perform their legal affairs at a notary in Berane, citizens from Pljevlje and Mojkovac in Bijelo Polje, citizens from Kolašin in Podgorica, and residents of Plužine, Šavnik and Žabljak in Nikšić," announced the Chamber of Notaries.
It is stated that the previously adopted decision will be valid until the appointment of notaries in municipalities where notary offices have not been opened.
"With the aim of faster and more efficient work of notaries in the municipalities in the north of Montenegro, the Chamber of Notaries is currently working intensively on securing premises in Žabljak, in Pljevlja, Plav and Kolašin, in which on certain days notaries from Nikšić, Bijelo Polje, Beran and Podgorica would came by invitation. Therefore, notaries from Nikšić would be 'in charge' of Žabljak, Plužine and Šavnik, notaries from Bijelo Polje for Pljevlja, notaries from Beran and Rožaj for Plav and Andrijevica, and notaries from Podgorica for Mojkovac and Kolašin," the announcement reads.
After more than half a century, a notary service was introduced into the legal system on July 25 this year, which, as the Chamber said, should be a great relief for the courts and a significant help to citizens in protecting their rights.
"To this end, 30 notary offices have been opened so far - in Podgorica, Bijelo Polje, Berane, Rožaj, Nikšić, Danilovgrad, Cetinje, Herceg Novi, Kotor, Tivat, Budva, Bar and Ulcinj, and these days it is expected that in In Podgorica, four more public notaries will start working," the announcement reads.
