Fishermen from the Tivat fish market "Montefish" caught a capital specimen of 153 kilograms of tuna near the island of Mamula at the very entrance to Boka.

"The fight with the fish lasted over two hours. It tortured us hard, but in situations when you feel that such a beast is on the hook, adrenaline floods your body and you get twice as much strength", says the owner of "Montefish", passionate fisherman Dejan Krstović, adding that they caught the tuna on a longline while it served as bait skombar.

The fishing team of "Montefish" managed to catch bigeyes, 180-kilogram tunas, sea foxes before, but this is the biggest specimen caught this summer.

"The fish was torn in our fish shop and it caused a lot of attention from the customers. We immediately sold a part to "Porto Montengro", and a part was sold to exclusive fish restaurants in Budva, hotels "Maestral" in Pržno and "Avala", says Krstović.

Japanese tourists were the first to arrive at the Tivat market when they heard that the "Montefish" fish market had big tuna, and they immediately bought part of the belly of the fish. They said they would use it for their traditional "sushi" or "carpacho" as this way of preparing live fish is called in Boka.

Tuna pieces were sold in "Montefish" for 18 euros per kilogram without bones. "Now we're going a little deeper into the open sea to catch swordfish, which we haven't been able to do so far," Dejan Krstović announces a new fishing adventure.
