The Ministry of Justice has assessed that the notary's tariffs "do not correspond to the social environment" and will initiate a discussion on this issue in the Government as early as September.
That ministry recently approved the prices established by the Chamber of Notaries, whose explanation was that they were based on the prices of lawyers and notaries from neighboring countries.
As "Vijesti" was told, they have already registered complaints from citizens and business entities, most of which related to the prices of notary services.
"Already in the first days of the notary's work, the Ministry of Justice registered certain objections and dissatisfaction of citizens and business entities. We are already carefully analyzing these objections. Most of the objections refer to the amount of the notary's fee. Also, there are complaints that legal activities are being slowed down," Ana Radusinović, spokesperson for the Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Duško Marković, conveyed the position of the Ministry.
They said that the function of notaries is to ensure reliable legal traffic, which requires appropriate procedures and "citizens and the economy will have to get used to that."
It is added that the consequences of the current practice of signature verification were, to the greatest extent, to the detriment of citizens and their legal security.
"As for the level of notary fees, we can already say that they do not correspond to our conditions and social environment. The Ministry of Justice in cooperation with the Chamber of Notaries is already conducting an analysis of the prices of notary services and will raise this issue with the Government already at the beginning of September," announced Radusinović. .
