More than half of young people between the ages of 15 and 24 have tried alcohol in the last year, which is why it is necessary to increase its price and to control sales and advertising more strongly, is the recommendation from the research of the Institute for Public Health (IJZ).
Social medicine specialist at IJZ, Ljiljana Golubović, said at a media conference that alcohol consumption on one occasion causes acute consequences and the greatest damage to health, such as alcohol poisoning, injuries and violence.
Alma Drešević from the Ministry of Health said that it is estimated that there are around 30 alcohol addicts in Montenegro.
"Given that one person's alcoholism causes at least four people in their immediate environment to suffer, this would mean that alcohol directly affects approximately 120 people in Montenegro," said Drešević.
