The registration refers to Meljine complex DOO, not to the General Private Hospital Meljine. This means that the current union could not even sign an individual collective agreement, and if there is no such document, there can be no labor contracts either," the president of the board of directors of the Atlas Group, Mihailo Banjević, told reporters.
Yesterday in Podgorica, he met with representatives of the hospital's trade union organization who are dissatisfied with the way wages are calculated and the way in which the employees were asked to sign an employment contract that they had not seen before. The meeting was also attended by the president of the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro, Srđa Keković.
The workers will be handed employment contracts
It was agreed that the hospital union would be registered in accordance with the law, and then that the collective agreement would be signed. The workers will be handed employment contracts to which union activists can submit objections within five days. The regulation on systematization will also be delivered to them.
Two months after signing the employment contract, the employees will be paid holiday pay and winter pay.
"The reputation of the institution that has by far the highest income in the health care of Montenegro must not be damaged in any way, especially since there is no reason for it," concluded Banjević.
The president of the union organization of the hospital, Slavica Drobnjak, confirmed that she will eliminate formal and legal deficiencies in the union organization, as well as that she will review the offered labor contracts by Friday and, together with the representatives of the Union of Free Trade Unions, make possible remarks and suggestions.
"We agree that the Meljine hospital and its reputation is a priority for us and that, as before, we will do everything to ensure that this institution remains synonymous with a quality and complete healthcare institution," said Drobnjak.
Salaries by net account
The management of the hospital announced yesterday about the information in some media about the amount and method of salary payment. They claim that the regulation of the sales contract on the average gross salary of 850 euros was fully complied with.
The average net salary of doctors in Meljina is 1.324 euros, senior nurses 686, and middle medical staff 511 euros. They also state that, compared to state hospitals, now doctors in Meljina earn twice as much, and nurses about 65 percent more than their colleagues in the public sector.
The management is determined to eradicate unjustified sick leave. They say that they will not allow employees to work in other private health care institutions, to rent out rooms and engage in hospitality and tourism while being unreasonably sick.
