President of the Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandroković, believes that official Zagreb and Podgorica will reach an agreement on the open issue of the Bokel Navy.
During a meeting with representatives of the Croatian national community in Kotor, he said that the Croatian house in Kotor will soon be rebuilt.
"It is about the cultural heritage of Montenegro, but about the cultural heritage that is the legacy of the Croatian people, and through talks with the Montenegrin side, we will try to have it recognized and for this cultural heritage to receive recognition from UNESCO," said Jandroković, reports RTCG.
He announced that the Croatian house in Kotor, where the consulate of that country will be located, will soon be renovated.
"As early as this year, the renovation of that building will begin, we expect it to be fully functional soon. I expect that the Croatian consulate will soon be there," Jandroković said.
The representatives of the Croatian community in Montenegro told Jandroković that they are satisfied with the position in Montenegro, that they have political representatives in the parliament and government and in the local administrations in Tivat and Kotor.
Croats are the smallest national community recognized by the Constitution in Montenegro.
According to the last census, there are a little over six thousand of them.
There are most of them in the municipalities of Boka, in the capital, and the least in the north.
