Citizens, businessmen and investors in Montenegro, five years after the beginning of the work of public bailiffs, are witnessing a much faster and more efficient enforcement of rights and a more favorable environment for doing business, Deputy Prime Minister Zoran Pažin announced at a meeting with representatives of the Chamber of Public Bailiffs.

According to Pažin, time has shown that the Government's decision from 2014 to launch a fundamental reform of the system of execution of court judgments and introduce an independent and independent enforcement function was good and justified, since a significantly more efficient, faster and cheaper procedure for the execution of court judgments was established.

He emphasized that public bailiffs significantly contribute to the realization of justice in Montenegro, ensuring timely fulfillment of legal obligations towards creditors and holders of property rights.

"With this, the courts are significantly relieved, while citizens and the economy are provided with a more up-to-date and efficient realization of the rights that were denied to them," Pažin added.

He reminded that the Ministry carefully monitors and supervises the legality of the work of public enforcement officers.

As Pažin emphasized, the Ministry of Justice closely cooperates with the Chamber of Public Bailiffs both on strengthening the professional capacities of public bailiffs and on ensuring strict compliance with ethical and professional standards of the enforcement function.

"The initiation of appropriate procedures, including the removal from office of a small number of unscrupulous executors, in the past period contributed to the strengthening of the professionalism and responsibility of the executive function," assessed the Deputy Prime Minister.

The President of the Chamber of Public Bailiffs Vidak Latković stated that in the past five years, public bailiffs in Montenegro had as many as 350 cases in their work.

According to him, the number of cases decreases every year, which is evidence of increased discipline in fulfilling legal obligations and a greater degree of realization of creditors' rights.

Latković announced that the Chamber formed a special commission which, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, will carry out regular internal controls of the work of public enforcement officers.
