On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the catastrophic earthquake that hit the Montenegrin coast, the President of the Ulcinj Assembly, Ilir Čapuni, convened a special session, which will be dedicated to the tragic event.
On this occasion, an exhibition of photographs and documents from that time, provided by the State Archives office and local collectors, will be organized. The session will be held at the Mediteran Hotel on Monday at 19 p.m.
The epicenter of the land was located in the Adriatic Sea between Bar and Ulcinj, at a distance of 15 km from the coast, and had a strength of seven degrees on the Richter scale, or nine on the Mercali scale.
In the earthquake, 101 people died in Montenegro and 35 in Albania, and more than 100 thousand people were left homeless.
