URA filed a criminal complaint against Orlandić

Today, the civil movement URA submitted a criminal complaint to the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office against the director of the Airport of Montenegro, Danilo Orlandić (SD).

The URA also presented to the public photos that, according to them, show damage to the runway at the Tivat Airport, which was pointed out to the authorities in the Aerodromi company a year ago through a report by the Civil Aviation Agency (ACV).

"We have filed a criminal complaint against the executive director of the Airport, Danilo Orlandić, due to the well-founded suspicion that he committed crimes against the safety of public traffic from the Criminal Code, namely: Article 341 - endangering the safety of air traffic; Article 342 - endangering the safety of air or maritime traffic or a fixed platform of Article 346 - negligent supervision of public traffic, as well as that he committed criminal acts against his official duty, and in connection with the criminal offense from Article 417 - negligent work in the service", said the executive director of the party, Zoran Mikić.

GP URA adds that the photos they submitted as additional evidence of the condition of the Tivat airport runway clearly show numerous cracks in its various parts.

"There are also noticeable marks on the surface of the pavement structure that indicate swelling of the soil, and the appearance of circular cracks caused by the significant presence of water is also visible," Mikić said.

According to him, the CAA's allegations that adequate measures and actions were not taken to repair damage and correct irregularities are particularly worrying, as a result of which the Agency imposed several fines on airports.

GP URA assessed that all the evidence they submitted with the report against Orlandić indicates that the safety of passengers, employees at Tivat Airport and employees of airline companies is at risk, and that the safety of air traffic is drastically endangered.

"Given that the declarant has committed all the elements of the criminal offenses charged against him, we expect the competent prosecutor's office to do its part," said Mikić.

GP URA yesterday to the Agency and Airports submitted requests for free access to information, requesting more than 30 acts on issues of air traffic safety and the condition of the Tivat airport runway.

Dragan Đurović, the director of the Agency, was also asked to guarantee the safety of landings and air traffic at Tivat Airport. The URA also demanded from Đurović to answer the question of whether the airport's management, by not complying with the Agency's report and not taking corrective measures, as required by the ACV report from March last year, put the safety of passengers and employees at that airport into question.

Two days ago, URA presented the document ACV to the media, which, they claim, testifies to the threatened safety of both domestic and foreign citizens traveling through the airport in Tivat. The 10-page document was prepared by ACV in March 2018. According to the URA, the report was secret until it was presented to the public by that party two days ago.

In the ACV report, according to URA, it is stated, among other things, that the runway at the Tivat airport is in a very bad condition, that it is possible to burst at any moment, and that this could result in a tire burst and a possible takeoff of the aircraft. runways. In addition, the safe movement and parking of aircraft on the platform of the Tivat airport is also questioned.

Reacting to those allegations, the director of the Montenegro Airport, Danilo Orlandić, said two days ago that security at Tivat Airport was never threatened. He said that the Airports are "under the constant control of international and domestic aviation authorities, which have a zero tolerance rule in case of threatened air traffic safety".

He also said that the allegations of GP URA were "an attempt to compromise the state of Montenegro and endanger its growing economy" and announced that he would file charges against representatives of that party. However, Orlandić himself announced that the creation of cracks on the runway with an area of ​​over 100.000 square meters "cannot be prevented" and announced that the issue - "will be resolved soon". They also said that in the previous period, they issued several fines due to the inaction imposed by their inspector in connection with the irregularities noted in the report from March last year.
