Local associations of pensioners have received a letter to submit lists of Association members to the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO Fund) through the Union of Associations of Pensioners of Montenegro.
According to the secretary of the Local Association of Pensioners "Zabjelo" Ivan Grdinić, the request to submit the lists of pensioners to the PIO Fund was sent for the first time, a few days ago, to all local associations in the territory of Montenegro. The elections in Podgorica are on May 27.
"Each local association in Montenegro is obliged to submit these registers to its headquarters, and the headquarters to the pension and disability insurance. There are 268 local associations in Montenegro, and 23 municipal headquarters," said Grdinić, adding that urgent delivery of the lists is required.
He claims that such requests have not been made to the "Zabjelo" association during the five years that it has been participating in its work.
"It is not clear to me why the PIO Fund needs this information with the registers of pensioners, when they have all this data. I doubt that there could be some kind of abuse here, because they were provided with personal data", Grdinić believes.
He points out that it is known that no one can be registered in the register of the local association if he does not bring a decision on retirement and an identification number, and that membership fees to the Association of Associations of Pensioners of Montenegro are paid through the PIO Fund.
The PIO Fund announced that this is a regular activity.
"Updating the lists of pensioners - members of the Association of Pensioners of Montenegro is a regular activity, that is, the obligation of the Association of Pensioners of Montenegro, which stems from the agreement concluded in 2009 between the Association of Pensioners of Montenegro and the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of Montenegro", announced is from the PIO Fund. They point out that the submitted data will serve exclusively as proof that a certain pensioner is a member of the Association.
