Several dozen citizens of Montenegro, Russia and Serbia gathered in Tivat, where the second parade of the NGO "Immortal Regiment of Montenegro" was held in honor of May 9, the International Day of Victory over Fascism.

Citizens decorated with Georgian ribbons, wore Yugoslav tricolors with pentagrams, flags of the Immortal Regiment and photos of their ancestors - Yugoslav partisans and members of the Soviet Red Army who participated in the Second World War and fought in the ranks of the anti-Hitler coalition.

The gathering, which was organized by the NGO "Besmrtni puk" and the Organization of NOR fighters - the Yugoslav option from Tivat, was attended by, among others, the first counselor at the Russian embassy in Podgorica, Sergej Bublikov, and the Serbian consul in Montenegro, Zoran Dojčinović.

The gathered organized in a column, with the sounds of the famous Soviet war song "Savrshenaja vojna", paraded across the city's waterfront Pine to the large City Park in Tivat, where they laid a wreath on the monument to the national heroes of Yugoslavia - lieutenants of the battleship Milan Spasić and Sergej Masera.

The president of the NGO "Immortal Regiment of Montenegro" Igor Damjanovič said that today Montenegro is in the NATO alliance that bombed it 20 years ago.

"In that military alliance, Montenegro is not together with Russia's enemies, but in that hostility it is sometimes a standard-bearer. Just a few months ago, Minister of Defense Predrag Bošković sent threats to Russia from Brussels that those from NATO would be able to respond to any attempt at destabilization of peace in Europe by Russia," Damjanović pointed out.

Alluding to the verdict in the "coup d'état" case, he said that "the Montenegrin authorities are preparing a verdict on Russia, Serbia and their beloved Montenegro on Europe Day".

"They will not be able to judge Russia, Serbia or its own Montenegro, but not innocently accused people whom they have arrested and who have been harassing and humiliating them for more than two and a half years. They will judge themselves, and for that judgment in the court of history , there will be no pardon. Honor and shame live forever," said Damjanović.

The president of OBNOR Tivat, Mato Brguljan, spoke about his ancestor, the national hero Maso Brgujan from Kotor.

Welcoming the gathered, the first counselor at the Russian Embassy in Montenegro, Segey Bublikov, reminded of the exceptional importance of the "Immortal Regiment" initiative in that country, considering the huge sacrifices made by the USSR in the Second World War.

"Through the "Immortal Regiment", we, the descendants of the fighters from the Second World War, cherish the memories of what they did 74 years ago. The USSR paid a huge price for that victory over Hitler and fascism, because 22 million of our people died in that terrible war." said the Russian diplomat who proudly carried photos of his two grandfathers at the parade in Tivat - the paternal one who died as a Soviet soldier in 1942 and the maternal one who marched to Berlin with the Red Army in May 1945 and signed the on the wall of the Reichstag building.

Bublikov said that many people today are trying to "deceive history" and reduce the role of Russia and the USSR in the victory of the anti-Hitler coalition.

"The most important thing is that this bright victory was shared by all of us allies in the anti-fascist and anti-Hitler coalition. This victory is also the greatest holiday for modern Russia and we, the descendants of the victors, can never forget it. I am also glad that we Russians, Montenegrins and Serbs are here together again today in the "Immortal Regiment" at this holy place dedicated to two fallen Yugoslav heroes. Long live Victory Day, long live this holiday that unites us," said Bublikov.

On behalf of the Russian Committee of Veterans of the Second World War, for preserving the traditions of the joint fight against fascism, the friendship of the Russian and Montenegrin people and the memory of veterans, he presented special medals to the president of the Democratic Party of Unity Nebojša Jušković and the leader of the "Immortal Regiment of Montenegro" Igor Damjanović.
