The increase in the water level of Lake Skadar and the Bojana River is evident and is approaching the level where there may be major problems in terms of directly endangering the population, then households and other facilities, said the head of the Operational Headquarters for Protection and Rescue, Mirsad Mulić.
He pointed out that the floods have not yet affected areas with a potential risk, but that the hydrological and meteorological parameters indicate that the situation in the coming days may become significantly more complicated.
"The operational headquarters constantly monitors the situation and is in constant contact with the competent services and authorities, both at the local and state level. Based on the information that the Operational Headquarters for Protection and Rescue, through the OKC 112 Directorate for Emergency Situations, has, the situation is also in the neighboring "Albania is very complex in this matter. The amount of water in the hydro reservoirs on Drim has exceeded the critical level," said Mulić.
He added that and bearing in mind that, along with the amount of precipitation and other factors, the release of water from these hydroaccumulations is one of the key reasons for raising the water level of the lake, and that it will directly condition the situation on the ground, they once again appeal to citizens to move their movable property and animals to safe locations, to follow the development of the situation through means of information and be responsible collaborators in this common problem.
