"We are ready, if necessary, to defend Sinjajevina with our lives"

Several hundred fans of Sinjajevina, gathered in front of the Ruzica church, said that they would defend that mountain with their lives. They protested the intention of the Ministry of Defense to use that mountain as a military training ground.

Livestock breeders Vanja Vuletić and Gara Jovanović and the president of the Livestock Breeders' Association of Bjelopavlićka Sinjajevina Vesko Lakić spoke about the importance of the Sinjajeva pasture for the development of livestock farming.

"We pray for you and ask you who are here and those who are not, to save Sinjajevina," said Lakić.

He added that Sinjajevina is the heart of Montenegro.

"Sinjajevina is not the birthplace of the reborn government and their father, NATO, but the age-old cradle of our ancestors and us, their descendants," said Tomislav Jelić from Uskoče Bar.

He said that those who build on Sinjajevina and who spent most of their lives on it were not driven away by long winters, roadlessness or blizzards. "Neither our ancestors nor us, their descendants, were forced to give up Sinjajevina, neither will the machinery of the Army of Montenegro," he said.

He told Defense Minister Predrag Bošković and President Milo Đukanović to know whose orders they were carrying out.

"We free-minded citizens of Danilovgrad, Žabljak, Šavnik, Mojkovac, Kolašin, are ready to defend Sinjajevina with our lives," he said.

Radenko Vuković from Žabljak wrote and read a poem dedicated to the defense of Sinjajevina, Crni Jezera and Bukovica yesterday.

Aleksandar Perović from Ozon said that the strongest Montenegrin army is the people who defend its nature.

"We are the ones who know what we have, we are the ones who will not allow them to take our rivers, mountains, and make us slaves. We are the army that will protect every inch of this country and we will not allow anyone to destroy it," he said. Perovic.

Veselin Drljević from Bjelopol invited the gathered people to come to the Savina waters on July 13 and show once again that they will not allow the destruction of Sinjajevina.

"There are many of us, let them not think that it will be easy to build here, life is the cheapest here," said Drljević.

Vanja Vuletić, a livestock farmer who raises 600 sheep in Sinjajevina, said that there is constant talk about the development of agriculture and asked "is that development the construction of a training ground".

"I don't think so. For centuries, this mountain has been a source of livelihood for many families who raised children, should we allow it to be destroyed today, and we received a bequest to preserve it for posterity. We should hand over Sinjajevina to posterity, the way we have it. received from our ancestors, which is untouched nature," he said.

The representative of Kolašinac, Novica Dragojevic, said that he spent 20 years as a civil protection engineer, working on unexploded ordnance and other jobs.

"The Montenegrin Army has a couple of artillery pieces within the ground unit. The Ministry did not tell the people that in the work report for 2018 they wrote that the Ministry of Defense intensified talks with the Ministry of Defense of Austria for the construction of a regional military center that would be in Kolašin, and Sinjajevina is planned for a training ground, not only for Montenegro and Austria, but also for all members of the NATO pact and their needs. There would also be a training ground for artillery shooting, which Montenegro does not need, because it has a few pieces of artillery weapons.
