Parking on the main boulevards and streets of Ulcinj will cost from 40 to 60 cents per hour as early as mid-June, if councilors give the green light on Wednesday.
In front of them will be a proposal for a decision on regulating traffic, entrusting the management of the public space for parking vehicles to "Parking Service", giving consent to the price list of that company and supplementing the decision on public parking lots.
This was confirmed to "Vijesti" by the acting director of the Parking Service, Aleksandar Jacović, who noted that the tender procedure for the procurement of the "spider", led and financed by the Municipality, is ongoing.
"In the next few days, we will install vertical signage in the second zone I and II. At the end of the month, in cooperation with the company T-com, we will start trial operation of the system", said Jacović.
In addition to the "Parking service", he added, the "spider" vehicle will also be available to the municipal police.
According to the study, prepared by the Belgrade company "Metroparking", the first zone is defined on the main street, from the Palma restaurant to the Holegra on Pristan, where an hour of parking, if the Parliament approves the price list, will cost 60 cents.
The second zone is represented by Frašeri Brothers Boulevard, most of the roads from Totoš, Nova Mahala, Meteriz and Pinješ that intersect with the main street and the center of Štoj. It is planned that parking in that zone will cost 40 cents an hour.
The zoned areas have around 1.100 parking spaces, and the "Parking service" will also have additional, specially designed parking spaces, where the price will be the same as in the first zone. Jacović said that the winter price list will be cheaper by up to 40 percent.
He invited the owners of houses and apartments in zoned areas to come to the company's offices during the trial period in order to get all the necessary information "first-hand" and possibly conclude contracts on favorable terms.
"All owners of houses and apartments in zoned areas can rent a parking lot for ten euros a month and park their vehicle anywhere and anytime in the zone they belong to," said Jacović.
People with disabilities, he noted, are exempt from paying, as are motorcycle owners, for whom special areas in the zones will be marked.
According to the law, academic time is also provided, that is, a tolerance of 15 minutes from the moment of parking.
"Parking service" will initially employ more than 20 workers who will predominantly be on the field, while during the season and larger crowds, as Jacović said, it is possible to hire additional workforce.
The supervisory authority of "Parking Service" is the Secretariat for Communal Activities, headed by Mustafa Goran.
