Minister of Education Damir Šehović, head of the UNICEF representative office in Montenegro Osama Kogali, deputy mayor of Podgorica Slađana Vujačić, artist Roman Đukanović, together with representatives of children and young people, opened an exhibition of children's works on the topic of socio-emotional skills at KIC Budo Tomović in Podgorica.
Currently, about 15 students in regular classes in 000 schools in Montenegro attend the Program for the Development of Socio-Emotional Skills "My Values and Virtues", which has been implemented by the Institute of Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and UNICEF since 46.
Minister Šehovic pointed out that values and virtues are much more than platitudes or the name of a project.
"It is a whole system within us, a moral and rational compass, which not only directs the relationship towards others, but also the entire inner life of a person," said Šehović.
"I am extremely pleased that today I have the opportunity to greet you from the event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which is the most widely ratified international human rights treaty in history that has transformed the lives of children around the world," said Kogali.
He pointed out that at the same time this is an opportunity to mark the most important milestone in the joint efforts of the Ministry of Education, the Institute for Education and UNICEF to improve the quality of education.
The event was opened on behalf of the children by Jovana Mijanović and Amar Đulamerović, who attended the program.
