With a charity party for children and parents at the "Luka Simonović" Elementary School in Nikšić, the Toy Library and Development Center were opened, and the "ticket" for the party was a book or a toy.
During the "Žurkoteka" sale of cakes was also organized, and the money from the sale is intended for the purchase of funds for the work and equipping of the free service intended for children and parents from Nikšić.
"Our goal is to collect as many toys as possible in order to enrich the fund of the toy library, which will operate in the coming period, but also to collect some money, which will help us organize workshops starting next week," said Lepa Žunjić, from Association "Parents".
She also announced the organization of numerous workshops for children of preschool and primary school age, as well as special support programs for socially disadvantaged families, which will include learning support to the encouragement of social skills and psychological empowerment.
Children and parents will be able to rent a toy in the Toy Store and return it after a few days.
For August, Žunjić announced an action to collect school supplies and clothing for children from socially disadvantaged families and reminded that the Development Center has been in existence for three years in Podgorica and that over 400 workshops have been organized during that time.
Mirjana Pejović Bojanić, a member of the Association "Parents", said that educational, creative, entertaining and developmental workshops are planned, as well as lectures related to the growth and development of children, parenting and breastfeeding.
She thanked the administration and the School Board of Elementary School "Luka Simonović" for the provided premises, as well as the many donors who helped them to open the Toy Library and the Development Center.
During the summer they will work twice a week, and from September they plan to work almost every day of the week.
