After the local parliament in Ulcinj adopted all the decisions concerning the business of the Parking service the day before yesterday, there are no longer any legal obstacles for the company to start operating.
Acting director Aleksandar Jacović confirmed this to "Vijesta". who announced that the horizontal and vertical signaling will be completed by the end of the week.
The parking service was originally supposed to start working around June 10, but the Assembly was late in adopting decisions on regulating traffic, entrusting the management of parking lots to the Parking Service, approving the price list of that company and supplementing the decision on public parking lots on the territory of the municipality.
Jacović also confirmed that the recruitment of workers, of whom there will be around 20 for the time being, is underway.
"And the "spider" is already in the city, so we will start trial work next week," said Jacović.
Answering the councilor's question whether parking will be charged on the streets in front of houses, Jacović replied that such solutions were provided for in the study prepared by the Belgrade company "Metroparking".
"Each already marked parking space will be charged depending on the zone. That's what it says in the report and there are no deviations," said Jacović.
According to the report, the first zone is defined on the main street, from the restaurant "Palma" to "Holegra" on Pristan, where an hour of parking will cost 60 cents. The second zone is represented by Frašeri Brothers Boulevard, most of the connecting roads from Totoš, Nova Mahala, Meteriz and Pinješ to the main street and the center of Štoj. It is planned that parking will cost 40 cents per hour in that zone.
The zoned areas have around 1.100 parking spaces, and the Parking Service will also have additional, specially designed parking spaces, where the price will be the same as in the first zone. Jacović said that the winter price list will be cheaper by up to 40 percent.
The Parking Service previously invited all owners of houses and apartments in zoned areas to come to the company's premises and conclude a parking lease contract for ten euros per month.
People with disabilities are exempt from paying, as well as motorcycle owners, for whom special areas will be marked in the zones.
According to the law, academic time is also provided, that is, a tolerance of 15 minutes from the moment of parking.
