In about 15 days, near the "Suncokrili" kindergarten, we will get a new children's playground, made according to the most modern standards, said the mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vuković, during the conversation with the residents of the local communities Block V and VI.
As he said, the three key priorities for that part of the city are the kindergarten in Block VI, the completion of Baku Street and the reconstruction of the second part of the Tološka Forest.
"During the past years, city services and companies worked hard on the territory of Block V and Block VI, so in 2018 alone, around 600.000 euros were invested here," said the mayor of Podgorica.
He said, as reported from the Capital City, that the money for the kindergarten was allocated earlier, but that there was a problem with the planning documentation, which was resolved in the meantime.
"In the next few days, I will get to sign the decision on the construction of an object of general interest, that is, the access road to the future kindergarten, because it was not properly resolved in the plan. After the audit, it would be realistic to get a contractor by the end of the year and then in a year and a half to two years to get a new kindergarten. We will also finish Baku Street, for which the money was allocated two years ago, but the property and legal relations were not resolved. In order to get an idea of the value of the project, I will tell you that the capital of those 450 meters of street, only when it comes to expropriation, will cost 1.300.000 euros, and to that should be added up to half a million for the value of the works themselves," Vuković said. .
As he said, a donation from a Montenegrin company was provided for the complete reconstruction of the second part of the Tološka Forest.
"We are working on the preparation of planning documents and we will enter into the implementation of this work through the public-private partnership model. As for the paperwork, we will finalize everything in the next two months and by the end of the year, if everything goes according to plan, we will get the most beautiful space in that area , a green oasis for recreational sports and citizens," said Vuković.
The mayor emphasized that the problem with storm water in the courtyard of the elementary school "Radojica Perović" will be solved by the beginning of the school year, so that the students can come to school unhindered, for which the capital will allocate about 20.000 euros.
"City company Čistoća installed underground containers in this part of the city as well, because we want proper waste disposal to come to life on the territory of the Capital City, as is the case with all modern European metropolises. This is one of the areas where we are lagging behind and because of this we have serious environmental problems in the city, such as the daily interventions of firefighters and Landfill workers in places where waste tires are burning. We have taken the first steps in the direction of building a plant for the treatment of car tires and I expect that we will have it in operation next year, we will work on creating assumptions to get a compost plant for plant waste... There are between 70 and 80 thousand cars on our streets and we are not satisfied with the state of life environment, that's why we deal so intensively with "green" projects and topics. For the first time three months ago, we subsidized the purchase of bicycles for citizens, thanks to which 134 of our fellow citizens obtained the right to buy bicycles with the participation of the Capital City. We will do it again by the end of the year and I hope that in three years, thanks to such projects, we will have between 500 and 1.000 new cyclists on the streets of Podgorica," said the mayor. Roads have invested 180.000 euros here over the past four years. The Housing Agency 400.000 euros and they are doing a very good job with the reconstruction of the facades. By painting the facades alone, without thorough reconstruction, we would get a short-term effect, and with the Agency's investment of 50% of the costs and with the participation of the tenants' assemblies of the remaining 50%, you get both a visual effect and a more permanent solution that pays for itself in three or four years through electricity bills . The Agency for Construction and Development also worked hard on the communal equipment of streets where there is intensive housing construction and the total investment is 400.000 euros. Thanks to that, we got 400 meters of new neighborhood roads and around 150 parking spaces," said Vuković.
He called on citizens to participate in the work of the Capital City administration through the work of local communities, because, as he said, this is the most practical way to channel their requests.
Saying that Block V and Block VI "have long been among the best parts of the city to live in", where citizens are very concerned about how their surroundings will look, Vuković directed them to the "Mikro 020" project, through which many non-urbanized neighborhood areas can be transformed into small green oases.
"Mayor Vuković also spoke about the current investment cycle of 200 million euros in capital infrastructure projects in the capital city, which include the wastewater treatment plant, the southwest bypass, the Donjogorica boulevard, the installation of LED lighting, the construction of a home for the elderly, the boulevard towards Zeta, Kindergarten at Stari Aerodrom, Vocational High School in Golubovci, City Theater building, Western ring road, boulevard between Podgorica and Danilovgrad, new boulevard in Gornja Gorica, boulevard towards Tuzi, reconstruction of the old road to Danilovgrad, construction of the eastern stand of the City Stadium, production of electricity from biogas and many others", it was announced from the capital.
During the next few weeks, Vuković and his colleagues from the city administration will talk to citizens in all local communities on the territory of Podgorica.
