Even on this sixth of July, he did not forget the victims of the 11 girls and boys from Stari Bar who were shot by German soldiers on this day in 1944. At the Memorial on the Belvedere, wreaths were laid by the presidents of the Municipality and the Association of NOR Fighters and anti-fascists of Bar, Dušan Raičević and Đuro Marković, relatives shot youth, members of the Young SDP Bar, scouts of the detachment "24. November", members of UBNOR and the Association of Military Retirees, who then observed a minute's silence in honor of the martyred patriots.
Retired general Spiro Niković bowed to the shadows of the tragically killed youth, none of whom were older than 20 years, who reminded that Bar has been paying respect to their sacrifice for the 75th year. He pointed out that this is a bright example of sacrifice for freedom, about which today's youth must know much more.
"The members of this Association, together with the responsible people of this city, will fight wholeheartedly so that the first class of history in all Bar schools will be held in this very place. If this is not the case, I am afraid, even though these are hard words, that we did not deserve their sacrifice Niković said.
In the Old Town in Stari Bar, tonight in memory of the shot youth, the cultural and artistic event "Red Shirt" will be held for the 38th year in a row. The program starts at 21:XNUMX p.m., and for the first time at this event, one of the most popular choirs in the country, the KIC Pop Choir from Podgorica, will perform well-known partisan and anti-fascist songs.
Poetry will be spoken by Radmila Škuletić, Miroslav Jovanović Timotijev and Milan Vujović, and the song, "Crvena zora", which was composed by Miki Jelenić based on the text of the initiator of the "Red Shirts", the late "Politika" journalist Božidar Milošević. soprano Aleksandra Vojvodić Jovović will sing. The director of the program is Dragiša Simović, and the organizers of the "Red Shirts" are JP Cultural Center and UBNOR from Bar.
