The government has asked the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG) to urgently repair the damage caused by the inflow of waste water from the Thermal Power Plant (TE) Pljevlja into the rivers Vezišnica and Ćehotina.
The Minister of Economy, Dragica Sekulić, informed the Government about the environmental incident at the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant.
The Government announced that they require EPCG to repair the damage immediately.
They pointed out that it is necessary to shorten the deadlines for the environmental reconstruction of the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant, which will eliminate the possibility of such incidents.
"Regular supervision is necessary and monitoring of the possible discharge of waste water, as well as informing the public about it", it is stated on the Government's Twitter account.
The government tasked its representatives in the EPCG Board of Directors to urgently convene an extraordinary session of the Board, which will declare responsibility for the occurrence and consequences of the incident.
