The rescue units of the Administration of Maritime Safety and Port Management (UPSUL) successfully completed their work tonight. Within 40 minutes after the call for help was received, the UPSAL on-call team arrived from Bar to the island of Sveti Nikola near Budva and helped three of our citizens who were on a test drive of the boat they bought, and lost power.
"At 19:45 p.m., the Maritime Operations Center received a call that two kilometers from the island of Sveti Nikola, the boat had lost power. As early as 19:50 p.m., the rescue boat SAR-5 with skippers Jasmin Koković and Nikola Bošković set sail from Gate V of the port of Bar. They already made visual contact with the boat at 20:21 p.m., which they reached at 20:30 p.m.," Žarko Lukšić, head of the UPSUL Department for Maritime Traffic Supervision and Control, told "Vijesta".
Emphasizing that the action was carried out in seas of strength 3, he added that the SAR rescuers had a battery ready, which they added to the boat's crew members. After the boat's engine was activated, both vessels left for the port of Bar around 20:40.
