With a symbolic release of the TV signal, the President of the Municipality, Stevan Katić, opened last night on the ground floor of the Park Hall a new studio of the public service Radio Television (RTV) Herceg Novi.
"The technical prerequisites have been met, the most demanding part follows, and we believe that the RTVHN collective has the energy, inspiration, knowledge and will to create program content that we will gladly listen to, watch and read. RTVHN will be a platform for the exchange of information, ideas and opinions, to which everyone is welcome. We believe that it will significantly contribute to the promotion of the city, and represent a window to the whole world in Herceg Novi", said Katic.
He said that the mission of radio, television and portals is "to be a chronicle of life in Herceg Novi, to educate and entertain, respecting professional standards".
The president of Herceg Novi Radio Television Council, Savo Niković, said that experienced radio personalities and young TV forces are ready to bring back the once recognizable popular, new flavor, guided by Plato's words, "Let your mouth be a faithful heartbeat".
"Regardless of the dilemmas of citizens, politicians, professions... it must be noted that public services survive and have shown a kind of vitality, which stems from the support of the founders and public revenues, but certainly also from a special mission, i.e. the fact that the public service has a different task than private media, said the executive director of RTVHN Dubravka Perović.
At the opening ceremony, a short film documenting the radio-television history of Herceg Novi's media tradition was shown.
