The President of the Municipality of Tivat, Dr. Siniša Kusovac, and the Secretary for Youth, Sports and Social Affairs, Darka Ognjanović, organized a reception for geronto housewives, on the occasion of the retirement of geronto housekeeper Mira Vuksanović.
Presenting the gift from the Municipality, Kusovac pointed out that Vuksanović is the first geronto housewife whom the Municipality of Tivat is seeing off into retirement.
"This is a beautiful and solemn occasion, and today we have here not a farewell to retirement, but a farewell to the beginning of the third age. That period of life should be the most beautiful time, it should be calm and peaceful, and a person should build some habits that he did not succeed in before," said the mayor.
Secretary Ognjanović pointed out that Geronto Housewives is a service rooted in the Tivat tradition.
"We have never heard anything but words of praise and gratitude about your work. You welcomed a lot of people and made sure that everything was according to the rules and that there was still sensitivity, which is very important when working with people of an older age. On behalf of all the citizens of Tivat, we thank you for your great and humane work, which was often not always adequately rewarded," said Ognjanović.
According to Duško Božović, coordinator of the project "Help and care in the home" and secretary of the OO of the Tivat Red Cross, it is a pleasure to work with geronto housewives who help and take care of sixty sick or elderly fellow citizens every day.
"I have to point out that lately the Municipality of Tivat has been looking at all our activities in the right way, which was not always the case before," said Božović.
Vuksanović thanked for the reception and wished the geronto housewives even more success in their future work.
