Today, the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) received a defibrillator, a device for resuscitation of patients, which will be used at the Clinic for Anesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Therapy.

KCCG said that the device was acquired within the project "Strengthening transparent and responsible management of public finances", implemented by the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), with the support of Slovakia.

KCCG director Jevto Eraković thanked for the valuable donation.

"This is just a continuation of successful cooperation with Slovakia and UNDP. I hope that we will be able to use the complete donated funds and equipment that we receive from those organizations in the right way and that we will justify the trust we have had for many years," said Eraković.

The Ambassador of Slovakia in Montenegro, Roman Hloben, said that this is Slovakia's second donation after donating spelt lamps in May.

"As for this device, I want it to be used as little as possible, and if it needs to be used, it should always save a life," said Hloben.

The permanent representative of UNDP in Montenegro, Daniela Gašparikova, pointed out that the donation is part of the wider support that the organization provides to the improvement of the health system in Montenegro.

"We are proud that UNDP is recognized as a reliable partner of Montenegro in the process of comprehensive digital transformation, including in the health sector," she said.

Gašparikova said that they are intensively working on the development and improvement of the Integrated Health Information System (IHIS), which will enable timely management of valuable public resources and ensure the use of reliable data for efficient and strategic decision-making.

She reminded that the procurement of defibrillators was made possible through a project whose goal is to improve the efficient and responsible management of public finances at the central and local level in Montenegro.

The Director General of the Directorate for the Financial System and Improvement of the Business Environment in the Ministry of Finance, Bojana Bošković, thanked the partners for their long-term cooperation and explained how the idea of directing the donation to KCCG came about.

"I hope that this donation will ensure that KCCG can provide better services and better health care to citizens," said Bošković.

Director of the Clinic for Anesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Therapy, Hasib Lukač, explained that the defibrillator is an electro-medical device, intended for defibrillation of the heart, to determine the presence of cardiac activity, heart rhythm disorders and to transform them into sinus rhythm.
