The bands Letu pike and Nothing Unprovoked will perform in Podgorica for New Year's Eve, while Darko Rundek and Marko Louis will perform on January 2020, XNUMX, it was announced from the capital city at today's conference.
A market will be organized from December 13th to January 75nd, and a different concept of the Podgorica Night celebration has been announced, which will be celebrated outdoors for the first time on December XNUMXth. As they said, that will also be the beginning of the City Day celebration. This year, Podgorica is celebrating XNUMX years since its liberation.
"Last year we witnessed an extremely successful multi-week event. The market exceeded our expectations and the expectations of our fellow citizens. This caused satisfaction, but it also gave us the obligation to enrich the offer of the city more when it comes to the concept of celebrating the New Year's holidays", said Deputy Mayor Dr. Slađana Vujacic at the press conference on the occasion of the presentation of the concept of celebrating the New Year's holidays in Podgorica.
She pointed out that the novelty is the very term Pazar, and that the introduction to the celebration of the New Year holidays is a rich cultural and artistic program throughout the month of December.
"Apart from the very beginning of the Market, which will be a little earlier, we will also have a different concept of the Podgorica Night celebration, which will be celebrated outdoors for the first time on December 13. It will be an opportunity for us all to celebrate our Podgorica together on our Independence Square. It will also be the beginning of the City Day celebration, I will remind you that this year we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Podgorica. And this day we will celebrate something different - a seven-day celebration that will be accompanied by a specific program every day and which will will end with a formal session and accompanying program on December 19. We will round off the celebration, and thus make an introduction to the celebration of the New Year's holidays - on December 20, when a Gibonni concert will be held in the Bemax ARENA, which is a gift from the Bemax company to Podgorica and its citizens. In addition, we are expecting a lot of newcomers, performances by local bands and performers, a rich cultural offer, an opportunity to express creative potential, performances by Montenegrin entrepreneurs, a rich children's program, with many changes that await us in those days. On New Year's Eve itself, regionally popular performers will perform - the bands Letu pike and Nichim zavada, and on January 01, we can expect the performances of Darko Rundek and Marko Louis", concluded Vujačić.
The secretary for culture and sports, Ana Medigović, said that the capital intends to increase the interest of tourists in local cultural events and sights of Podgorica.
"The intention of the Capital City is to use the experiences of cultural tourism in the world, through the public interest, to include the promotion of cities in the field of art and culture and thereby increase the interest of tourists in local cultural events and sights of the city. We are expecting a rich December in Podgorica, and with the New Year's Market starting on December 6, I must announce that this year's edition of DEUS will begin on November 29, when an exhibition of 17 artists from the region will be opened in the new area of the Collector, along with a concert by the jazz band from Belgrade, Fish in Oil. quality programs - literary, theater, music and film. You have witnessed that a few days ago we had a very successful party in cooperation with the Konektor organization, and that practice will continue. We are expecting a new DJ on December 7. This is a new part of the city's cultural offer that has aroused great interest from our fellow citizens, which positively surprised us," concluded Medigović, adding that interesting projects await us during the next year as well, which will contribute to better promotion of the capital city, "said Medigović.
Nina Pajović from the Podgorica Tourism Organization pointed out that such events are extremely important for raising the quality of the city's tourist offer.
"Given the comments and reactions last year, it was to be expected that this concept would become a traditional way of celebrating holidays in our city. The Podgorica Tourist Organization will implement some of our traditional events that are organized in December, this year within the framework of the Podgorica Holiday Market. We will start with the event "We choose the best in tourism and hospitality", with which TOP has been rewarding individuals and collectives whose work contributes to improving the overall tourist offer of the city for more than two decades. our surprise relates to the event "Podgorica night", which will be organized outdoors for the first time this year and we believe in the delight of our fellow citizens and numerous tourists who will be staying in Podgorica. On that day, in addition to our performers Bojan Marović, Bojan Delić, Danijelo Alibabić and Raj Simonović, Žuti Serhatlić and Peđa Janković will perform, followed by special guests Ana Štajdohar and Mostar Sevdah Reunion, Pajović pointed out.
She also emphasized the importance of the children's New Year's concert, which will be enjoyed by younger citizens with the children's choir "Zvjezdice", the ballet school of Princess Ksenija and children's animators and special guest Minja Subota.
Sava Rakočević mentioned that the market will start on the sixth of December and will last until the second of January, and that the beginning of the manifestation is adapted to the weather conditions.
"Just like last year, the number of sold seats at the Market and facilities for product presentation will be 42, local producers and a certain number of producers from the south and north of Montenegro will be presented.
