Vaccination against seasonal flu at the Podgorica Health Center will begin today, said the health institution, stating that sufficient quantities of vaccines have been provided.
As it was announced, all citizens who are recommended to be vaccinated should report to the Podgorica Health Center with their chosen doctor, with whom they are registered, and schedule a vaccination, because people who have an elevated temperature or some acute illness at the time of vaccination may not receive the vaccine.
The Podgorica Health Center explained that vaccination of the population is carried out with the aim of reducing the incidence of disease, transmission of the virus in the family, collective and population, and thus preserving one's own health.
"Vaccination is carried out in order to maintain the collective immunity of the population, especially in those for whom vaccination is indicated, in order to prevent possible complications and severe clinical forms of the disease," the announcement states.
The Podgorica Health Center explained that the target groups that are at increased risk, and it is necessary to receive the flu vaccine, are all citizens over the age of 65, pregnant women, children over six months old, and chronically ill patients.
As they stated, people with reduced function of the immune system, including people with HIV/AIDS, those who have transplanted organs and/or cells, and health workers are also at increased risk.
