Due to previously undertaken obligations, the Makarska delegation will not attend the official celebration of Budva Municipality Day, November 22.
That is the explanation of the representative of the famous Croatian tourist destination, the municipality of Makarska, who for the first time in the past five years will not come to Budva for the ceremony. It is even more interesting that there was no invitation from Makarska to Budva this year for its delegation to come on October 24 to the Makarska Municipality Day celebration.
Those invitations were regularly delivered to the address of the Montenegrin metropolis of tourism in all previous years.
Budva and Makarska have cultivated strong friendly relations in all previous years, and artists and businessmen were often guests of numerous events. "Vijesti" was denied answers to the questions that they officially sent to the Public Relations Service of the Municipality of Makarska, as well as to the office of the mayor there. It was not answered what the reasons were for not inviting the delegation of the Municipality of Budva to the ceremony in Makarska first, and why they canceled their visit to Budva.
The question whether one of the reasons is the clear pro-Serbian course of the new Budva administration headed by Marko Bata Carević was not answered, since during the time when Budva was managed by Dragan Krapović, they regularly attended ceremonies and invited representatives of Budva to their celebrations.
The Municipality of Budva told "Vijesta" that they did not receive an explanation as to why the Croatian delegation is not coming to Budva, apart from the usual saying "due to previously undertaken obligations", and that it is not clear to them why this year there was no invitation for the Budva delegation to attend the festivities in Makarska.

The municipality of Budva is twinned with 22 cities, so the list of those with which it has friendly relations includes the Slovak city of Banska Bistrica, the Slovenian Celje and Kamnik, the Belgrade municipality of Čukarica, the Turkish city of Jalova, the Ukrainian Kiev, Laktaši in the Republic of Srpska, the eastern administrative district of the city Moscow, Novi Sad, Ohrid, Pakrac, Italian Petacato, Russian Petropavlovsk Kamchatki, city district Prague 4, Italian Rimini, Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo, Czech Valaški Mezericij, Serbian cities of Velika Plana, Novi Sad and Vrnjačka Banja, American West Palm Beach and Chinese Zigong.
The celebration of November 22, Budva Municipality Day, began ten days ago with numerous cultural and sports events. The central celebration is scheduled at the "Palas" hotel in Petrovac, where a formal session will be held, the arrival of which has been confirmed by numerous delegations and representatives of the cultural and public life of Montenegro.
It is interesting that this year the presidents of the Municipality and the Municipal Assembly, Marko Carević and Krsto Radović, are organizing festive dinners. Radović organizes a welcome dinner for 150 guests on November 21 in "Palas", while a day later in "Avala" in Budva, Carević organizes a gala dinner for the same number of guests.
