Democratic Montenegro MP Valentina Minic was slightly injured in Tirana during the earthquake that hit Albania early this morning.
Minic with the vice-president of the party, Dragan Krapović, participates in the conference of parliamentarians in Tirana.
Krapović told "Vijesta" that he and the other participants of the conference were staying in a hotel when the ground shaking occurred.
"We are located in the center of Tirana, in the hotel where the conference is being held. First there was a roar, as it usually happens, and then a strong shaking of the ground," Krapović said, "People immediately started leaving the hotel, and most of them are couples hours spent in the lobby or in front of the building."
Krapović told "Vijesta" that the current situation is normal, although anxiety can be felt due to tremors that usually follow a stronger earthquake.
He also added that some of the European parliamentarians canceled their participation in the conference, as well as that the Democrats' delegation will cut short their working visit to Tirana due to extraordinary circumstances.
At least nine people were killed and more than 300 injured in the powerful earthquake that struck Albania early this morning.
Earthquake strength. whose epicenter was in Durrës this morning around four o'clock, it had a magnitude of 6,1 on the Richter scale. A few hours later, another earthquake followed - 5,1 on the Richter scale.
