A delegation from the Municipality of Ulcinj, headed by President Ljor Nrekić, will visit Durrës tomorrow, the city that suffered the most in the devastating earthquake that struck Albania on Tuesday morning and has claimed 40 lives so far.
More than 6,4 people were injured in the 650-magnitude earthquake, and a special Montenegrin team, consisting of 18 rescuers from the protection and rescue services and six representatives of the Directorate for Emergency Situations, is participating in the rescue operation, which continues today in Durrës. Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The delegation from Ulcinj will also include the head of the protection and rescue service, Saubih Mehmeti, who will visit the Ulcinj firefighters from the special team.
"Our three firefighters with one technical vehicle are also in Durres. I plan to visit them to see how they are and find out more about the actions they are participating in," Mehmeti told Vijesta.
He also stated that he will submit an offer to the Albanian authorities from his two fellow citizens who expressed their willingness to receive 28 families who were left homeless in the earthquake.
"These are our respected fellow citizens, who, at least for now, want to remain anonymous, so that their offer would not be interpreted differently," Mehmeti said.
