It has been almost seven days since the first earthquake in Albania, which woke up and disturbed Montenegrin citizens as well.
On Tuesday, November 26, a little before four in the morning, it shook not far from Durres, and it was felt all over Montenegro.
There are dozens of victims, hundreds of injured.
Seismologists have warned of new earthquakes and that they are almost certain to occur in the territory of Montenegro in the near future.
Government departments have issued instructions on how to behave in the event of an earthquake.
We sent help to the neighbors. Our rescue teams are in Albania.
During all that time, we did not hear the voice of the director of the Directorate for Emergency Situations, Mirsad Mulić, professor of literature.
This is not the first natural disaster during which the first man of the Directorate for Emergency Situations is late in reacting.
"What we saw today on the ground is a great testimony that there was a great and difficult struggle between man and nature," said Mulić during a tour of the suburbs of Nikšić, which were affected by the recent storm and were completely flooded. Almost a week after the flood, he visited those areas with the minister without portfolio and the president of the Commission for Natural Disasters, Marija Vučinović.
The summer of 2017 was remembered for several days of fires across the country. While Montenegro was burning, Mulić was stingy with words. Although many blamed him for poor organization and management at the fire sites, the lack of a crisis headquarters to coordinate manpower and resources, Mulić then refused to answer the question of all the questions: whether he adequately responded to the task during the days of the fire and whether he had the necessary qualifications for the function it performs. Before becoming the MUP's first man for emergency situations in 2013, Mulić worked as a teacher at the high school "Vukadin Vukadinović" in Berane.
He was the vice-president of the Municipality for the field of culture and social activities, the director of a kindergarten in that city, the director of the Center for the Preservation and Development of Minority Culture and a member of the DPS from March to October 2012.
While the ground trembles, the professor of literature spends his second term at the head of the Directorate for Emergency Situations.
