In the settlements of Kalimanj and Donja Lastva in Tivat, a significant rise in sea level was recorded, so the water covers Kalimanjska Street, Ribarski Put and the Filip Milošević promenade, which is why these roads are closed to traffic, and a large number of vessels are at risk in the port of Kalimanj - it was announced from of the Municipal Protection and Rescue Team in Tivat.
The municipal team for emergency situations decided that in these streets, with the assistance of the Municipal Police and the Tivat Protection and Rescue Service (SZS), traffic would be suspended until further notice, and an appeal was sent to the owners of vessels in the port of Kalimanj to immediately go to the port in order to start pumping out the water, because a large number of vessels are already at risk. Citizens are already responding to the appeal and water is being pumped out of vessels in the port.
According to the commander of the SZS, Zoran Barbić, in case of need, sandbags have been prepared for the coastal part if the rise of the tidal wave continues significantly.
Members of the SZS, with the assistance of other competent services and companies, visit locations that are threatened by rising sea levels.
The road direction Kotor roundabout - Radovići Luštica is passable for traffic and is under surveillance measures.
A red weather alert has been declared in central and southern Montenegro, and heavy rainfall is expected until after 22 p.m.
