The Protection Service of the Skadar Lake National Park deliberately damaged the vessel, so that they would not have adequate means to work, enabling poachers to catch fish unhindered with electricity and illegal means, claim the NGO Carp Security and the Coalition for Sustainable Development (KOR).
"The management of the JP National Parks of Montenegro as well as the director of the Skadar Lake National Park continue to cause immeasurable damage to the environment and the property of the National Parks through their inaction and negligence. Although the Directorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs timely informed the public that the central and southern parts "Montenegro is expecting strong cyclonic activity and storms, the management of the Skadar Lake National Park did not find it necessary (even though the procedure dictates it) to pull the motor vessel owned by the NP Skadar Lake ashore so that it would not be damaged by high waves," the joint statement states. This, as they state, is another "in a sea of evidence that says that the Skadar Lake NP Protection Service is sabotaging itself." "And as the activists of the NGO Carp Security and KOR had the opportunity to testify, by intentionally damaging the vessel so that they would not have adequate means of work and thus enable poachers to catch fish unhindered by electricity and illegal means," the announcement states.
"Although on December 17 (the day before the feast of St. Nicholas, when the demand for carp is the highest) the directors Klica and Ivanović organized a blood donation performance with the Skadar lake gamekeepers and thus got a day off, the activists of NGO Carp Security and KOR the biggest storm is witnessing the negligence and destruction of property of all citizens.
