The Minister of Health, Kenan Hrapović, together with the Ambassador of Albania to Montenegro, Ridi Kurtezi, escorted a convoy of aid - medical supplies and medicines - to the Government of Albania, the Ministry of Health announced.
"After the devastating earthquake that hit our neighbors in Albania, which I personally saw after visiting that country just one day after that terrible event, we offered our friends as a country all the necessary help. We were in constant communication with them and on based on their stated needs and acted," said Hrapović.
He added that a request for help in providing certain medical supplies and equipment was submitted through diplomatic channels from the relevant Ministry of Health of Albania. "The Ministry of Health organized a collection campaign and today we are here at the Božaj border crossing to, together with the ambassador of Albania in our country, send the requested medical supplies, equipment, medicines," said the Minister of Health.
Hrapović said that the distributors of medical supplies, equipment and medicines showed their willingness to help.
"I emphasize that in addition to the state-owned Montefarm, several private companies also responded to the campaign, for which the state expresses its gratitude. These are: Farmont DOO, Glossarij DOO, Osmi red - D DOO, Monte D DOO, Anik-Atik DOO, BusinessMontenegro AD, Nativa D.O.O., Medica D.O.O., Inel Medica D.O.O., Danlab D.O.O. Of course, our help will not end here and as a state we will continue to act in a way to help rehabilitate the consequences of the earthquake. The value of the donation is 45,233.40 euros," Hrapović pointed out.
Kurtezi, as reported, thanked the Ministry of Health and Hrapović for the quick reaction and provided help. Also, the ministry added, he thanked President Milo Đukanović, Prime Minister Duško Marković and the Assembly's Ivan Brajović, as well as all the citizens of our country for their solidarity.
