In the past two days in Podgorica, park furniture, greenery and monuments were targeted by vandals, and graffiti with inappropriate content was written on the facades of buildings, the capital city announced.

The local self-government assesses that it is "an eruption of aggressiveness and destruction that is a direct consequence of the political context".

The capital published photos showing a destroyed bench and an underground container, and the vandals also targeted the monument to Josip Broz Tito near the Blaž Jovanović bridge. The vandals covered the monument with a plastic bag, and flowers were scattered and placed.

"For the umpteenth time we ask the question, where does the urge to smash, destroy and vandalism come from, especially among young people? We are not sure that numerous appeals reach those who are prone to vandalism. It even seems that such occurrences, if they pass without consequences for them, motivates further destruction of taxpayers' property. We are only comforted by the fact that it is a relatively small number of vandals, compared to the huge number of our citizens who have a highly developed, first of all, home education, culture and an instilled love for Podgorica and Montenegro. the city, in this sense, once again uses the opportunity to express its deepest gratitude to the Police Administration and the security services of our country, which for the umpteenth time saved Montenegro and its capital from some of us," the capital city announced.
