Last night, employees of the Skadar Lake National Park and members of the Center for the Protection and Study of Birds (CZIP) went to the field in the Podhum area at the invitation of the Border Police, where they found an injured female field harrier, which they immediately transported to the veterinary station in Podgorica.
Veterinarians found injuries due to which the bird had to be euthanized. The Public Enterprise National Parks of Montenegro announced that in connection with this case NPCG will submit a criminal report to the competent authority.
Skadar Lake National Park is, as they remind, a protected natural area recognized for its wealth of bird life, and they appeal to all citizens to refrain from illegal activities that could in any way endanger the animal life of that national park.
"This morning's filming showed two baleen whales and a major spinal injury, due to which this individual, wintering here, had to be euthanized. Podhum is located very close to the Pančeva oka reserve, and it is the responsibility of all of us to preserve this locality from poaching," they announced from CZIP.
