The Socialist People's Party (SNP) condemned the arrest of the editors of the IN4S and Borbo portals, Gojko Raičević and Dražen Živković.
SNP, as announced, demands their immediate release.
"And at the same time, he is telling the authorities that with such undemocratic acts, we cannot go even an inch further towards the family of developed European societies. They are in fear, so the regime is obviously afraid of the people's power, i.e. the tens of thousands of people who are walking peacefully in Montenegrin cities, asking to be removed or amend the anti-constitutional or anti-state Law on Freedom of Religion. The planners of this evil plan from the top of the regime seem to have been surprised by this, so they are resorting to harsh moves and pressures," the announcement states.
They also add that "if they were to measure the amount of lies and fabricated news that disturbed the Montenegrin public in the past years, the amount of hatred and insults that the regime's media directed at the opposition and freelance journalists of some newsrooms, the prisons would be full of those who are for the sake of daily politics and closeness to the government , rejected the journalistic code and ethics".
"Here, two things should be pointed out - either the DPS is in a complete panic and sees an elephant in the blink of an eye and reacts out of fear to the bursting of New Year's balloons, firecrackers or electrical installations, or a real dictatorship, characteristic of the worst autocratic regimes in the world, has been introduced, where it attacks everyone who thinks otherwise. Everything has already been said about the prosecutor's office and the judiciary in our country, which react to the whims of the rulers. According to them, the looting and looting of Montenegro and all kinds of affairs did not disturb the public, but newspaper articles did."
The SNP reminds that "Duško Jovanović gave his life on the altar of freedom and democracy, and the murderers and masterminds have not yet been brought to justice."
"A Vijesti journalist was shot here, journalists were beaten, economically oppressed and threatened at every step, if they dared to write critically about some scourges of Montenegrin society. Unpleasant scenes with the arrest of a young journalist from the Fos media portal toured the region, and last night the arrest of two free journalists, Raičević and Živković, really disturbed all the people who have a free and true Montenegro close to their hearts. Another reminder - anyone who declared war on the media and freedom of journalism lost that battle. And only the one who started the persecution of the church , it is inglorious or will end ingloriously," the SNP statement concluded.
