On January 13, the supervisors of the Skadar Lake National Park Protection Service found one person illegally fishing, from whom they temporarily confiscated the vessel, while the fish was returned to the water, announced the National Parks of Montenegro (NPCG).
"With the help of a thermal camera, a person was spotted on the ground catching fish in the Plavnica region, and the action was carried out in cooperation with the inspector for freshwater fisheries", according to the NPCG.
They remind that the Call Center was established in order to enable conscientious citizens to deal effectively with applications for illegal activities in this protected natural resource. Citizens can call 067/000-825 to report any observed illegal activities 24 hours a day.
NP Skadarsko jezero appeals to all users of the area to behave responsibly towards the values of the protected area and points out that the use of illegal means of catching fish has a negative impact on the preservation of the overall biodiversity.
