SOS Telephone Nikšić, Safe Women's House Podgorica and NGO Prima Podgorica, as part of the campaign "Light the darkness of sexual violence", placed billboards in five Montenegrin municipalities with messages against sexual violence against women and girls, SOS Telephone Nikšić announced.
As they add in the announcement, in the next month in Podgorica, Nikšić, Žabljak, Budva and Bijelo Polje, there will be photos/stickers with messages on six billboard surfaces, the aim of which is to increase the awareness of citizens about sexual violence against women, as well as the most common prejudices that are associated with sexual violence and motives for sexual violence against women.
"With these billboards, we want to once again draw the public's attention to the existence of sexual violence in Montenegro and to the fact that sexual violence can happen to anyone and anywhere. We also want to once again point out how important it is to report sexual violence, and to our three organizations are here for all women, girls and children who have experienced sexual violence and who need help and support," the announcement states.
"Within the campaign Let's shine a light on the darkness of sexual violenceso far we have organized, realized and are realizing numerous activities: public actions, open days as well as educational workshops in kindergartens and youth centers on the topic of sexual violence. We also published three videos entitled Sexual violence is not child's play," the statement added.
"The design and placement of the billboard is part of the project "Let's shine a light on the darkness of sexual violence", which has been implemented since May 2018 by SOS Nikšić, Safe Women's House and NGO Prima, and which is financially supported by the Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro," the statement concluded.
