The former workers of the bankrupt Bauxite Mine plan to gather in front of the Special Prosecutor's Office building in the next ten days in order to put pressure on the aforementioned prosecutor's office to "take out of the drawer" the case related to the sale of former workers' wages, which has been with them since 2017. This was announced at a gathering of former bauxite miners who, on the plot where buildings for bauxite workers were supposed to be built, once again expressed their dissatisfaction that around 260 of them failed to solve the housing issue.
"Then they would also visit other competent institutions. It seems that the Ministries of Economy and Justice do not have any communication because Minister Zoran Pažin still has not answered the Ministry of Economy about our case. He replied to our letter and referred us to the Prosecutor's Council, from whom we have not received a response since September. They are just spinning us in circles," said Raso Čivović on behalf of the workers.
According to him, the prosecution's website states that 12 complaints related to the prosecution's work were answered last year, which means that only their complaint was not resolved. Čivović said that they only managed to prevent the Basic State Prosecutor's Office from blocking the removal of the ore from the aforementioned plot.
The company "Ambijent AGM" took over the union plot, with an area of almost 18,7 thousand square meters, in March 2017 for a claim (with interest and costs) of 171.978 euros and resold it in April 2019 to the company "Vector System Security".
It is about the land that is located across the street from the Bauxite administration building, and for which the estimated value in 2008 was 1,8 million euros. Ten buildings were supposed to be built on the mentioned lot for workers who did not solve the housing issue.
Former Bauxite workers are also interested in what happened to the 12.000 square meters that were previously compensated with the Municipality of Nikšić for the communal equipment of the land on which the aforementioned buildings were supposed to be built.
Bauxite has been in bankruptcy since November 2013.
