The Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU) will accept the invitation for dialogue sent by the Government of Montenegro to all relevant political and social actors.
"CANU, aware of its role and responsibility, is ready to contribute to development goals in direct cooperation and dialogue with the Government of Montenegro and everyone who perceives civil and democratic Montenegro as their home," the institution announced.
They add that Montenegro needs an agreement not only as an agreement of those whose goals are different, but, as they said, as a fundamental consensus of those who want to build a common house - the state of Montenegro.
"History teaches us that over time we have managed to bravely protect ourselves from others... It testifies that we sometimes knew how to humanly protect others from ourselves. The same history reminds us that we often did not know how to protect ourselves from ourselves," they said. are from CANU.
They added that Montenegro and peace in it have no price, and that the path to preservation lies in respect for the legal order and institutions, and that this is achieved through dialogue and mutual discussion.
"Particular interests cannot be above these values. Awareness of this obliges us to refrain from big words and hasty actions," CANU said.
They pointed out that they do not have political power and legal means to influence important state decisions, but they know, as they claim, that knowledge and culture are the areas in which the last defense of the identity of a society and state is.
"We strive for knowledge, civil equality, social solidarity and the rule of law to become the ideals that modern Montenegro strives for on its way to Europe. That is why we are happy to give, in a direct dialogue, through scientific gatherings, forums, projects, books, lexicons and encyclopedias contribution to the strengthening of identity, the affirmation of institutions and the overall progress of the state of Montenegro."
