With a tour of the most important cultural sights in the center of Nikšić, the local Tourist Organization (TO) and the Tourist Agency "Prestige Travel" marked the World Day of Tourist Guides.
The children of the "Kosovka djevojka" kindergarten, as well as a group of students from the Secondary Economic and Hospitality School, had the opportunity to hear and learn more from the licensed tourist guide Miljan Mijušković about King Nikola's Castle, the Church of St. Vasilij Ostroški, the lapidary and medieval stećci, Freedom Square and the hero Ljubo Čupić.
"This is the practice of celebrating the International Day of Tourist Guides in most cities in the surrounding area, so we designed a free tour for our fellow citizens, starting with the youngest, through high school students, students and others. Our goal is to promote tourism in Nikšić and Nikšić as a tourist town. This is our modest contribution to the development of tourism in Nikšić", said Mijušković from "Prestige travel".
According to him, tours with licensed guides are an everyday occurrence in cities in the south and north of Montenegro, while they are still unknown in Nikšić.
"The goal of this tour is both the promotion of the tourist potential of the city and the profession of a tourist guide."
According to the director of TO Nikšić Boris Muratović, with joint activities, such as the one implemented, much more can be done for the image of the city.
"The tourist organization Nikšić is an umbrella institution when it comes to promoting the municipality and its tourism potential, but we are certainly much stronger and we will do our work much better together if this cooperation is expressed at the highest possible level," said Muratović and said other tourist organizations to follow the example of the "Prestige travel" agency.
According to him, the participants of the tour could hear everything that Nikšić was, is, and will be.
"So, a bright future, a real tourist potential. The strength lies in introducing our youngest fellow citizens to all the beautiful things that Nikšić has, and that is today's idea".
Muratović pointed out that it is necessary to educate tourist guides, because in this way a good image of a city and its cultural, historical and natural potentials will be spread better and more efficiently.
